someone else. Rather she believes she can give parents tools they need to better their relationships with their kids.
Parents, Teachers and Advocates is the brain child of Ms. Harvey. She first entertained the idea of becoming
a parent educator in 1989. While working at Kiwanis Camp Wyman now called Wyman Cener in Eureka,MO. She was entering
data for campers and noticed that many were the only family member because they were wards of the state. While working
for Evangelical Children's Home in 1990 she came to o undersand that these children's parents needed help in righting
their lives back on track. So that they could become more effective parents.
She then went on to obtain her Masters of Art degree in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Parenting Education
from Oral Roberts University. She graduated in 1995. She has conducted over 500 classes in parenting development.
Parents, Teachers and Advocates was incorporated in November 2006 and received status as a 501(c)3 in December of 2007.
During the years between getting her degree and incorporating Ms. Harvey realized that all parents can benefit from development.
She began to see that parent development is a lot like going to a marriage seminar.
"Parent Development
is not about being a bad parent. It is not about loving your children. It is about gaining the tools you need to make
your relationship better "

children and wants what is best for them. She also believes that developing better parenting practices will help ensure
they become all they are capable of being.
